Also known as face injections or dermal fillers, cosmetic injectables are a relatively quick and easy way to rejuvenate the skin. Popular cosmetic injectables include Botox®, Juvederm®, and Restylane®. Each has its own unique set of benefits. For example, Botox is most widely used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It works by blocking signals from the nerves to the muscles, preventing the injected muscle from contracting. As a result, it is a common treatment for crow's feet, forehead lines, and frown lines.
On the other hand, Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid filler that "fills in" facial contours to improve signs of aging. It is used specifically for the cheeks, lips, and around the mouth area. It works by increasing volume in the targeted area through hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that stimulates collagen production. Restylane is another hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler. However, unlike Juvederm, its main purpose is to smooth wrinkles and plump the cheeks and lips. It can also help address the nasolabial folds and around the mouth.
A chemical peel is a skin care treatment in which the practitioner applies a chemical solution to the skin to cause it to "blister" and peel off. The new skin underneath is typically smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin. As such, chemical peels are ideal for clients looking for effective anti-aging and acne treatment. In particular, chemical peels can reduce fine lines under the eyes and around the mouth, reduce the appearance of wrinkles caused by sun damage and aging, fade the appearance of mild scars, and improve the overall look and feel of the skin. They can also help fade age spots, freckles, and dark patches and improve areas of sun damage.
Before performing a chemical peel, the practitioner will thoroughly clean the skin. Then, they will apply one or more chemical solutions to the targeted area(s). These solutions may include carbolic acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, or trichloroacetic acid. This will effectively create a controlled wound, stimulating the production of new skin. It is not uncommon to feel a five to 10-minute long burning sensation, followed by a stinging sensation, and some patients may need pain medication during or after a deeper peel.
Everyone wants to look as young as they feel. Fortunately, skin tightening can be achieved through even minimally invasive procedures. Effective methods of wrinkle treatment include Botox and PDO threads. As previously mentioned, Botox works by preventing the targeted muscles from contracting. In other words, it softens expressions by blocking nerve impulses to the muscles. As a result, botox can treat frown lines, crow's feet, forehead creases, areas around the mouth, and, as stated by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, "a 'cobblestoned' appearance to the chin."
PDO threads can also rejuvenate the skin without the trouble of invasive surgery. This procedure uses a biodegradable polyester suture and can typically be performed in less than 45 minutes without using a scalpel. According to a 2017 study, PDO thread lifts are mostly effective in tightening and restructuring the skin. Results generally last for around a year, though a second rejuvenation effect may last for at least three years after the procedure.
As stated by WebMD, microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure in which a practitioner pricks the client's skin with tiny sterilized needles. By creating micro-wounds in the skin, microneedling stimulates collagen and elastin production, which heals and rejuvenates the skin. As such, it is occasionally known as collagen induction therapy. We offer two kinds of revolutionary microneedling technology: Morpheus fractional treatment and SkinPen microneedling.
Morpheus fractional treatment, also known as Morpheus8, is a form of radiofrequency microneedling that uses both tiny needles and radiofrequency waves to stimulate collagen and elastin production. It can penetrate subdermal tissue up to 8mm, making it the deepest factional treatment available on the market. SkinPen microneedling is the perfect treatment for busy patients, requiring little downtime and bringing about a natural recovery process. It is also effective at improving fine lines and wrinkles, among other benefits. Both Morpheus fractional treatment and SkinPen microneedling are safe for use on all skin types.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Botox safe?
Yes. Botox injections are safe as long as a qualified practitioner administers them. However, common side effects and complications include (but are not limited to) pain, swelling, or bruising at the injection site.
What should I do after getting dermal fillers?
As stated above, dermal fillers are a relatively quick and easy procedure. As such, you can typically return to your everyday activities immediately after leaving the office. However, you may want to ice the area for 15 to 20 minutes to reduce any redness and swelling from the injections.
What should I expect after a chemical peel?
It depends on the intensity of the peel you get. For example, a refreshing or lunchtime peel will have a healing time of one to seven days, while a deep peel may take 14 to 21 days to heal. We will provide you with detailed aftercare instructions, so you feel prepared for the healing process.
Do PDO threads hurt?
A PDO thread lift is a minimally invasive procedure that causes micro-injuries to the skin. As such, we provide clients with a local anesthetic to minimize any pain and discomfort they may experience throughout the procedure.
How many microneedling sessions will I need?
It depends on the area being treated and the type of microneedling you choose to undergo. Some clients see results in as little as three sessions with the SkinPen. Most patients also have up to three sessions with Morpheus fractional treatment.
